Jerone Roy Sr. (Media / Teaching Artist) is a veteran vendor with Dallas ISD and City of Dallas Parks & Recreation — Youth Services, with more than 3 decades of providing After School / Summer Camp Enrichment for K-12.
This program is designed to ensure that no participant falls between the cracks of the learning process — regardless of age group or individual talents. We want all participants to have fun and learn simultaneously.

2024 Summer / Fall Enrichment Activities
Three unique, interconnected enrichment activities — each designed to engage, inspire, and empower every participant.
"Let's Play Music"
A fun-filled enrichment activity that includes an introduction to beginning music and theory — the keyboard, xylophone, and percussion instruments. Participants will learn how to read basic music notes and clap their rhythms. All instruments may be used to explore how participants can create sound effects both electronically and acoustically.
Participants will do musical activities that allow them to walk, run, skip, hop, march, and move to the sounds and rhythm of selected music. Everyone is encouraged — including staff, monitors, and volunteers — to use percussion instruments to create their own music and beats.
Participants are encouraged to combine the arts — stage grooming, singing, dancing, public speaking, skits, and more — in a final performance showcase to conclude all summer camp workshop activities.
"Spin The Wheel" — For Media Literacy and Learn!
Introducing a unique and exciting way for everyone to learn more about Media Literacy — the ability to access, analyze, evaluate, and produce communication in a variety of forms and media technologies. Media Literacy will increase your Critical and Analytical Thinking Skills.
Participants will explore different types of media and how we use them as communication tools:
- Electronic — music, video, commercials
- Print — photography, artwork, posters, trading cards, graphic arts
- Visual performance
- Tips on Social Media
"Do What You Love" — And Be Happy!
Designed to ensure that no participant falls between the cracks of the learning process — regardless of their age group or individual talents. We want all participants to have fun and learn simultaneously.
This activity works in combination with both previous enrichment activities. Participants engaged in this activity will also be eligible to "Spin The Wheel" to determine their activities — and they can win prizes and awards.
All Three Activities Work Together
Every participant — no matter their skill level or background — will find their place, their voice, and their joy in the 3 Times The Fun! program.
